The Dock Road, Scotland Road and the Vauxhall area had long associations with criminality in the tough decades after World War Two . Drugs were stored in safe houses, with deals done in alleyways and side streets. They took their name from their favourite haunt at the time, outside the Strand shops in Scargreen Avenue.
